I am currenly on an H1B visa. I would be marrying a US citizen, and understand that I can apply for a provisional green card for 2 years.

Does anybody have any idea of how long it takes to get this provisional green card after application ?

If you are currently in the US, then once you have married, you file for Adjustment of status (I-485) along with Financial Affidavit (I-864) and Application for Work Authorization (I-765).

Depending on where you live, the I-765 can be processed anywhere from the same day to 90 days later.
