I am wandering if someone could let me know if this is grounds for an appeal. I have applied for SSI and had a visual field test done by my doctor to begin with which was a 24/2, which clearly showed I fell into the Visual field loss category and my vision is 20/400. Anyway DDS required me to see their doctor claiming they had to have a 30/2 chart, which according to the SS guidelines a 24/2 or 30/2 can be used to determine visual field loss. But I went to their doctor anyone to have the so called 30/2 test done, which honestly the machine used was the same as my doctor used. Anyway I go the day to their doctor to have the test done. And now I learn two weeks and a day later that DSS has still not received the report and when I call the doctor to find out why it had not been sent because I need a copy sent by DDS to a nuerology clinic I am trying to get into because the doctor will not release it to me. I am told the doctor took a week and a half vacation and would be getting it into them that week. This was last Wed. I called this morning and DDS still has nothing and claims they have called the doctor and he is suppose to be working on the report now. My main question is if he does get it in and I am denied would this be an issue that needs to be pointed out in the appeal because instead of doing the report the day of the exam they waited over two weeks to do it, instead of doing it when the appointment would have been fresh in their minds.

The timing would not be grounds for an appeal .If denied you follow the instruction in the denial letter and appeal timily yourself . A reconsideration at first .
