What is the name of your state? Wisconsin
We went to court last April and received permanent guardianship of our grandson. Mother and father both incarcerated. The mother was released in late November and is now petitioning the court to get him back. She has made only a few attempts to visit him and only has a part time job. Her probation officer said she would testify for us that she has not been out long enough needs more time to establish stability. My question is will the probation officers testimony carry much weight.

It's very possible it will. You need to show the court, if necessary, how the child is thriving in his environment, how well he's doing in school (if applicable), etc. Judges like to place children back with the parents, but if you can prove the child is doing really well and the P.O. is allowed to testify, you have a chance.

Don't do this without an attorney.
