I am in New Mexico and currently have Power of Attorney over my Aunt. I just recieved a summons from my brother who has petitioned for appointment of guardianship over my aunt. What is the difference between Guardianship and power of attorney? Can I petition for Guardianship at the same time? What should I do in this case? I am worried if my brother gets guardianship he would drain my aunts bank account? Would Mediation be a posibility in this case?
