H1B and Canada Permanent Residence

What is the name of your state? NJ

I am on H1B right now. I am thinking about applying Canada Permanent Residence as a backup plan (i.e. if I can get my green card in the States, I will stay here and give up the idea of Canada immigration).

Does any one know whether these two immigration process may be conflict with each other?
