Hello,

I am going to apply for my H1B extension through my employer. My earlier H1B had the job title "Programmer Analyst". But currently I work as Sr.QA Engineer with my client. The client letter and the client contract says "QA Engineer". My questions are as follows:

1. Can I apply my h1B extension with the new job title "Sr.QA Engineer" to match the client letter/contract. Will it create an issue as my previous H1B had the job title "Programmer Analyst"

2. My green card was applied with the title " Programmer Analyst". Will it create a problem in GC processing if I get a H1B with QA Engineer title now?

Thank you for your help.

Thanks,

1. If you qualify for both jobs based on your education and/or work experience, it should not be a problem.
2. Depending on how long or short term this new job, the fact that your green card was submitted for a previous job title may or may not be an issue. The green card is for a future position so depending on whether or not you plan to return to that position would determine whether or not that application can proceed or whether a new one would need to be started.
