What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MA

Hi Lana

I'm really happy to see you help so many people in understanding the US laws and answering their Immigration queries.

In this regard, I'd appreciate your guidance as well:

I came to US in 2007 on L1B visa with Company A. Later, in 2008 I filed my H1B petition with Company B. It was approved around Jun-08 and was valid from Oct 01, 2008.

Since, I was already loacted in US, I had provided my I-94 number to Company B during H1B filing.

I also noticed that my H1B petition has my new I-94 attached at the bottom with the same old I-94 number.

I haven't yet quit from Company A since Company B is still finding projects for me and hence my payroll is still run by Company A at the moment.

Following are my questions:

1. What is my current [Post Oct 1, 2008] Visa status- L1B or H1B?
2. If it is L1B, do I need to file any document with USCIS to change it to H1B? Also, does me continuing working for Company A cancel/makes my H1B invalid?
3. If it is H1B, is it illegal for me to continue working for Company A?
4. I have another offer from Company C? Can Company C file H1B transfer for me? If yes, can I provide my Company A pay stubs for the same.[If asked by USCIS]?

I'll really appreciate your help on this.
