Jeez, I hope they don't grant OP a green card. Why would they consider people like this when there are so many others that don't steal and want to get green cards?

The reality is that someone on a visa is treated basically the same as an LPR or US citizen.

The only difference is that certain crimes - those of "moral turpitude" - would be more likely to end up with deportation (after the custodial sentence has been served, of course ;) ) for the visa holder OR the LPR. Those crimes not falling under the MT umbrella are just not seen as a serious threat to society.

With that said, MULTIPLE instances would be treated much differently.

Do I like it? HELL no because I AM one of those folk who did it the legal way without having ANY sort of criminal record. I'm an LPR of many years now, and spent blood, sweat and tears (and whole heap of money) to do it the right way.

But, it is what it is.
