I have recently been transferred to a new work location about 7 months ago, found out and announced that I was pregnant about 4 months ago and have had problems ever since. I have periodically been accused of leaving the premises without informing anyone, which is false, and just recently I have been accused of leaving work early, which is false. This is how the story went. My functioning supervisor (which is not a real supervisor by the way just takes the place of one when there isnt one available) was working an evening shift. I worked till 3pm. She called my personal cell phone, which we are not required to have at work, to ask me to come over to main office from the sublet office across the parking lot to help with some work. We have always been short on people at my job and usually manage with 2 or 3 peolpe, she had 4 on shift this day and asked me to come over. Needless to say I did not have my cell phone with me and I did not get the call, so at 3pm I left the sublet office and went home. The next day she accused me of leaving before my shift and said she looked into the parking lot across the way and said my car wasnt there, which is a lie because I was there till 3pm like my shift is supposed to end. SO now she claims that because of the trust issue and since she doesnt know what time Im really leaving at that I have to come over to the main office from 2 to 3, whether I do any work or not, just so she knows I leave at 3. I am the only one required to do this, and this isnt the first time she has accused me of doing something like this, falsely accused much less. I am being singled out, because never on any previous shifts or any other employees have had to come over to the main office to 'prove' that they are leaving at the time prescribed. I feel as though IM being harrassed not just because of this situation but because of this and the past conflicts weve had. I wrote to my director of the situation and asked for a transfer back out of this office. My question is, do I have a case of harassment? Im under the impression that she thinks that just because IM pregnant (6months) that Im trying to weasle my way out of work, which isnt true at all and any of my coworkers from my past office will vouche for that. So am I being harassed? If things like these continue can I get a lawyer and do something about this?
