Have A ? On Car Warrenty

we filed bankruptcy in july-had the meeting already and so on .well now our altenator or starter has gone out on our car and we purchased the extended warrenty on it -our attys paralegal told us that we could keep the warrenty or decide to do away with it so we kept it just in case
ok now my question is-will i have to pay out of pocket for the car to be fixed or will i be able to use the warrenty.

warranty issues

The only issue you have concerns the terms of the extended warranty you purchased. These warranties typically have different levels of coverage that should be spelled out virtually part for part (ie starters, alternators) on your paperwork. They will also have restrictions in terms of the amount of miles driven and time since purchase of warranty (like 24 months, 24,000 miles). Contact the service dept of the dealership if applicable, or the company that underwrote the warranty.

it ended up being the battery for sure. a neighbor loaned us his long enough to check it out and it started right up. the original warrenty just expired so we had paid extra for the other warrenty. never know with used cars sometimes.
thank you for your help. it was stressful not knowing whether it would be the battery or the altenator or starter.
the car company was complaining about the warrenty and wanted to deny us access to it but our atty fought for us and we got to keep it

extended warranties

Depending upon the situation, extended warranties may or may not be for you. Glad to hear it was something simple. FYI- In Calif, if you decide you don't need the extended warranty, you can cancel it and receive a pro-rated refund. Read the terms of your warranty carefully to decide.
