What is the name of your state?Florida:
My old dentist sold his practice. I was the last patient he saw then
he vanished for parts unknown. Less than a month after he split one of
the crowns he did fell off and had to be redone. During the several week period he was treating me he sold his practice. I disputed the charges
on my credit card and some of the charges that were more than 40 days old could not be disputed. His fees were paid over 5 credit card charges. 3 of the charges, that could not be disputed were under my old dentist name. The last 2 under the new Dental organization that bought his practice. The position I got from the new
organization is they are cagey about this whole matter and do not feel
responsible for this problem. My question is, when they bought my old
dentist's practice did they also buy any liabilities such as mine that
went along with it?. I spoke to the new dentist who took over and said
they had an an agreement with my old dentist that should a problem
arise where someone came back with defective dental work that they
could contact him and he would either return and redo it himself or pay
them to redo it. I spent weeks with him trying to get a hold of my old
dentist and the new dentist says he has no clue how to contact my old
one and he even had his old mail and does not know where to forward it. I closed the credit card account but the new dental organization says they last 2 charges which appear under THEIR name and THEY NEVER TREATED ME, was for the final delivery of a partial denture. And either want the denture back or they will attempt to recharge my card.

You keep asking this question over and over again.
However, if they charged you and did no work, it would appear they took responsibility and may be estopped, have you made any complaint to the dental board or gone to small claims court?

Well

The dental board cannot help me because the original dentist was not a member. Have not been to court because I do not know who to sue. That is why I tried to ask this question again in a different forum because nobody will give me a clear answer.

The dental board is the state liscensing board NOT the dental association! If he held a license, you an make a complaint with them and they will track him down and also interact with the group who bought out the practice.

Go to your local court and inquire re small claims court, they will have information for you there and maybe even classes in what to do and how to file a case.
