Help!!! Bad agent

What is the name of your state? NJ
We signed a contract with an office as a seller. we got an offer on 7-5-2004. by the end of the day, we agreed on a price. My agent went on vacation and a fill-in was handleing it. the fill-in responded to us on the 7-6-2004. he instructed we should not accept the fax copy and that he wanted an original copy. the buyers agent disagreed and said she would get the originals when she could. day after day they went back and forth on this. on 7-9-2004 my fill-in agent called me and said the sellers broker called his broker and was upset that our fill-in agent was failing to present an offer. our fill-in agent called us and told us this and instructed that we could proceed with the fax copy and that we should come in to sign it. we signed it on 7-9-2004. there was a lawyers name missing on the sellers part. the fill-in agent called and asked for the lawyer information and did not send the contract back to the buyers agent. on 7-12-2004 the buyers agent called and stated they were backing out of the deal.
Do i have grounds for any action here? at the least to cancell my contract with the real estate office?

**A: yes you do, the fill-in agent needs some intelligence and experience filled in his brain and his broker needs to help him more.

*** You may have a basis for a complaint against your agent and/or his broker, but you have no claim against the buyer as (presumably) there wasn't a valid, signed contract.

*** No, not on its surface. However, you might negotiate a termination of the contract in return for your NOT filing a complaint with the state and/or local real estate commission(s). If they agree that they were at fault, then they will likely agree to terminate. If they feel not, then they probably won't.
