The court administrator was declared my father's guardian without consulting the family. They claim they did not know he had a family.
All of a sudden they wanted me to take over the guardianship. Then someone from the guardian's office said that he had a big bill from the TV cable company. I asked her how could he have a big bill since they were supposed to be in charge of his finances.
This is after they and the nursing home accused me of abusing him in the nursing home and getting him upset. The days they claim he was upset I was not there. He has never been upset with me at the nursing home. Plus I am not stupid enough to cause trouble in a public place like that.
At first they were not going to let me visit my father at all. Then when I went to senators, representatives, etc. Then they decided to let me visit him for just half an hour. All of this was on the pretext that I was abusing him.
How could I abuse him in a public place. If I was abusing him how come they did not stop me immediately.
I did witness his roommate being slamed into a chair by a staff member. Also another person that claimed to be a staff member would not let me put some new clothes for my father on the inventory list for him.
When I report this to the guardian that is when all of these rules were inforced on me and they tried to keep me from seeing my father.
There was no effort to straighten this matter out. They now admit that I never mistreated my father. However they never put it into writing like they did their accusations.
Futhermore, I am not allowed to take any videos or tape record my father. The nursing home and the court administrator say that this would be against HIPPA. Yet she came in and took videos of him.
When I asked how come he was not bathed and they allowed him to set there with open sores they said that he did not want to bathe. I found latter on that was untrue.
I also found out that they do not allow him to go shopping. He gets $90.00 a month in spending money but never goes anywhere. His guardian is burying him in Warrensburg instead of where I or the family requested.
My father is upset because they(the guardian and the nursing home) kept drilling him about money and life insurance.
They (the guardian and the nursing home) forced me into signing in and signing out of the nursing home to see my father. This went on for four months. I could only see him during the week for thirty minutes from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
When I visited my father, I noticed bruises and sores on him. They finally got that cleared up after I kept on it.
Strangely enough they asked me after all this if I wanted custody of my father. They gave me this paper and said all I had to do was sign it to get custody. Don't you have to go to court in all situations to get custody of a person? They tell me no.
My father is a USA veteran of more than one war. Yet this guardian saw to it that he was stripped of his veteran's benefits and put him on medicaid.
The court administrator's office tells me that after their wards die that they turn the bodies back to the family to bury. In other words, they strip they people of their rights, dignity and money then dump the bodies on the family to bury. The new court administrator tells me that she is depositing money for his burial expenses. Well he is a veteran he is intitled to a veteran's burial.
Do they have a right to mistreat my father and me like this. They do not seem to want to do a thing for him. All they do is collect money.
The court administrator will not return my calls.
