State is Iowa.

If an employee gives their 2-week notice to terminate employment and they (boss/supervisor) makes you leave the day you gave notice, does the employer still have to pay wages for the 2-weeks you would have stayed? I've received conflicting answers on this one. Please assist....Thanks!

No. He only has to pay you for actual hours worked. If you don't work them, you don't earn the money, you don't get paid. However, you can very probably use his 'early termination' as justification for unemployment benefits.

Since you're received conflicting answers, I will chime in here to "ditto" Halket's reply. An employer is under no obligation to pay you or anything more than the time you actually worked.

If employers were obligated to pay for a notice period that was not worked, we'd all give 20 years' notice tomorrow and hope our resignations were accepted immediately.

Damn...I was hoping to get a few years off. Back to the drawing board. :)
