Hey guys, I have the opportunity to meet with a very well known music attorney for a half hour for $250.

I am an artist, good following- no management and not many leads, but I do have a new cd that has just wrapped production and is ready for mastering.

My question is, being that money is tight for me, do you think that meeting with this attorney would be helpful?
I don't have any contracts for him to look over, but could he have some advice and could this potentially pay off?
He also does not work by percentage.

Thanks for any advice

As much as I recommend attorneys in many situations, what does this fellow think he can do for you for $250 at this point? What you probably need more is an agent or something along those lines. As long as you haven't broken any laws or infringed in making your disk (are these your songs, if not did you pay the compulsory royalties, etc...). Are you represented by a PRO yet?

Hi thanks for the reply-
No I currently do not have any pro representation and found this gentlemen through research. He does have a good reputation and I contacted him.

I've been having a difficult time at finding a very good agent and my leads are exhausted- I figured I could give this a shot.

I believe that for the $250 he would be willing to give recommendations, direction and who knows what else-

Perhaps you need to do more research on him. Your "belief" that he would be willing to do this, that and the other thing for you may or may not be true.
