Im an aspiring singer/songwriter & was contacted by a man who said I was a superstar and wanted to help me "develop my gift. " Our first meeting was set to be w/a manager who could get me signed to a label.

Before the meeting he said we needed to meet face-to-face to discuss some things. Here, he says we need to prepare a "one-sheet" because "there always has to be papers involved before anything else happens." Here's a link to the one-sheet that was made that day Development Agreement.

At first he said it was solely to show show he helping develop me. But when we arrived @ Kinkos, he added 5.) and 6). By the time it was drafted, we only had 5 min before the meeting. He rushed me over to a notary & said I had to sign it. I told him I needed to call my father for advice, but he said there was no time.

So, w/out time to think & reason, I signed it. But two days later, I'm second guessing everything. I've also had other, more credited producers/engineers since, interested in working w/me but I'm scared to respond. What are the ramifications of signing it? Limitations? is 20 pts normal for someone in his position to take? Was I under duress? The year(2008) isn't in the contract-is it invalid? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
