What is the name of your state? TEnnessee

My daughter is 3 months old, and when she was 2 weeks old her father kicked me and her out of his house with NOTHING...he has 2 cars, owns his house, ect. I was 17 when i got pregnant, he was 23.... Now he wont help me with a car or anything, he wont even give me her crib. Ive heard that if i took it to court, since i was 17 and he was 23, he would have to provide me a car at least. I was just wondering what my rights were.

No, he wouldn't have to provide you with a car. However, he would be responsible for helping support the child. In addition, he could be charged with Statutory Rape, which is defined as in Tennessee:

39-13-506. Statutory rape.

(a) Statutory rape is sexual penetration of a victim by the defendant or of the defendant by the victim when the victim is at least thirteen (13) but less than eighteen (18) years of age and the defendant is at least four (4) years older than the victim.

(b) If the person accused of statutory rape is under eighteen (18) years of age, such a defendant shall be tried as a juvenile and shall not be transferred for trial as an adult.

(c) Statutory rape is a Class E felony.

Yes, it is statuatory rape and the father is responsible for the child if paternity has been established so you need to go and seek assistance today for you and your child, call your police department they can refer you to the appropriate agencies after taking a report.

Here are links to information on establishing paternity and child support:

Hon, whatever were your parent's thinking, letting you live with someone at 17?

You should have been learning to take care of yourself so you wouldn't need to depend on someone else once you became an adult.

However, you and your parents seemed to be ok with the idea of you and him together- along as he was footing the bill for all your needs. It is only now that he is not with you that you are approaching this as statutory rape? Not that it isn't, but it ALWAYS was, not suddenly became so because you and he aren't together.

File for custody and CS. Then move home and learn a career, if your parents will have you and the baby there. That way you won't need to be dependent the rest of your life.
