My husband and I have a problem, and I don't even know if I'm posting in the right area!!! If not, please redirect me to the right place.

We live in Illinois. My husband has been trying to sever all ties with his father, who has been abusive toward him since he was a child. He has told him on numerous occasions to stop calling us, we have written and hand-delivered two letters to him (the most recent was a week ago), yet he continues to call us several times a day, usually hanging up when he hears the answering machine. My husband does not respond to his calls, but he continues to call, nonetheless.

Is there anything we can do to get him to stop calling us? We don't want to change our telephone number, since we publish our home number to our business customers, as well, so that they can easily get in touch with us.

My response:

Then, there's only 3 things left for you to do :

1. Call phone company and report what's happening; or,

2. Change your phone number; or,

3. Remove all phone service from your home; or,

4. Move to a new location where such service is offered.

Whoops, I lied. That was 4 things.

Good luck to you.
