What is the name of your state? New York
2 months ago, I applied for a job with a church that I belong to for Office Manager.
After waiting this long for an interview, they send a letter saying that the job was filled.

Is it legal for them to hire someone without giving interviews to the other people who submitted resumes?

No organization private or religious has to grant an interview to everyone that apllies (Nothing illegal) You probably didn't meet the qualifications they were looking for or were over qualified.

Yes, it is legal to hire someone without interviewing all applicants. Some employers get literally hundreds of applications for each opening. There is no possible way an employer could interview everyone who applies. They are free to pick and choose.
