What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin

I just got the police report and it has several mistakes. I was involved in car accident not by my fault. It happened at intersection. One is town road and the other is Hwy road.
1. I was northbound on Hwy and driver that hit me was going soulthbound on Hwy, but police report said that vehicle was going eastbound on town road. Police report said that vehicle was stopped at Stop sign on town road and failed to give me right of way.
This is what really happened. Vehicle that struck me was going soulthbound on Hwy and wanted to make a left turn and didn't give me enough time to drive passed him. That vehicle wanted to make a left turn without stopping.
2. Police report says that operator of this vehicle is named Ann and this is a male. Can it be correct?
3. Before my car came to a rest I hit the mailbox on the right side of my car. Police report says I hit mailbox on the left side of my car.

How can police make mistakes like that? I would like to have your opinions.

Because they are human and sometimes because people lie to them.

Thanks for answer. The first part of the sentence I understand, we are all human and all aren't perfect. Although I cannot get that fact, if people lie to police (there were one more sedan involved and one truck witness, they might didn't clearly see what happened at first) doesn't police see the obvious fact that print from pickup bumper on my sedan doesn't looks like pickup was going straight, 90 degrees toward to me as police report says. The print on my sedan clearly displays the pickup bumper corner, and this means that pickup did left turn and hit me.
About mailbox. There were clear prints on the grass from my sedan, even child able to say that vehicle passed the mailbox post from the right (and not left as in police report).
Why police misrepresented obvious facts? I still cannot get it.

My OPINION is to contact the police department, present your version of the facts and ask that a supplemental report be made.

Thank you for your opinion. I'll try to do that. Although I told police my version of the facts in the day of the accident. He spoke to me less than 5 min and one of the first his sentences was rough "You need towing truck. Do you know someone?". Why didn't he ask that in the end of our conversation?

How could anyone here possibly know the answer to that question?

JETX gave good advice about asking for a supplemental report. Other than that, just report the accident to your insurance company and let them handle it.

Police reports are sometimes inaccurate. It doesn't mean much, because what ultimately matters is the evidence (such as the location of the damage to your car) that proves the facts.

Because what to you may be facts, are to others simply opinions.

Sorry, I cannot get what do you mean by opinion in my situation. I see it just as a fact.

If I passed mailbox post from the passenger side of my sedan, but police report says that from the driver side.
So what is the sort of opinion presented here?

I never was in a car crash before and I thought that police at first will ask about what happened and only after that will give suggestions. Although he did opposite and I felt that he isn't polite enough as a person.

I'm sorry for unusual questions, because I wasn't born in America. I'm from Europe and live in US only about 6 years. I try to understand you people.

Although the police report version of events is different then yours, it still supports you not being at fault. I wouldn't even worry about it. Tell your version of events to both insurance companies and they will decide based on that - police reports are wrong all the time, they are written (in most cases) by someone who did NOT witness the accident and are not admissible in court as evidence. Your testimony would be admissible, as would the other driver's and any witnesses.

Because it takes time for a tow truck to arrive at the scene. May as well have it on its way while you are answering questions. Calling one right away means your vehicle is taken care of as soon as possible. It is important to clear accident scenes as fast as possible. Waiting until all questioning is done before calling for a tow truck would only mean (a) potentially blocking traffic for longer than necessary, and (b) you'd be left at the side of the road with a disabled vehicle, waiting on the tow truck.

Common sense isn't all that common, is it?
