What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CALIFORNIA
was unloading groceries in front of garage in condo. came out and car gone. it was towed. they said it was in a fire lane. it was not. it was in front of my garage. hoa has a sign no parking in fire lanes, park in spaces marked, assume all other places are fire lanes.however their rules say you can load and unload in front of your garage. they took it to a place 20 miles one way from my condo. they refuse to give me contract that gives them authority to tow saying they do not need one. i told them there is only one "fire lane" on that is designated as such by the fire marshall. you cannot just say consider everything a firelane. only a marshall can designate and then allow signs/curb paint etc. they now have my car for almost 30 days. say they are going to auction it. will not give it to me unless i pay thousands of dollars. my groceries are still in the back. what can i do besides go tosm claims? do i sue homeonwer or tow company and what grounds. the 10 mile radius law does not state what penalties are? they took a photo showing me parked parallel to my garage door. which is ok. i was unloading. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
