Home Equity Loan after Bankruptcy????

In March my Chapter 7 BK was discharged contingent upon payment of several thousand dollars over a 12 month period. Since then my wife died and I have medical expenses to pay. My income would normally take care of these, but with the monthly payment to the trustee I have a problem.

I own my house free and clear. Is it possible to get a home equity loan so soon after bankruptcy? If so, where would I look for a lender?

You can get a home loan the day after a bankruptcy has been discharged, especially if it's owned free and clear. You should review your situation with a Mortgage Broker to decide which loan program fits you best.
