What is the name of your state? NY

I am looking to purchase a home on Long Island, NY. The home is currently occupied with a tenant with no lease. If I purchase this home what is the eviction process to get the current tenant out of the home? He has no agreement with the current owner whatsoever. Do I need to do a standard eviction?

Thanks for all input.

**A: as opposed to what; a substandard eviction? Read the NY L/T law, that is what you need to do and follow.

Thanks for the input. I wasn't sure if there was a different eviction procedure for a new owner with an existing tenant with no lease. I am not a landlord with years of experience in evicting people.

**A: 1 second after closing you WILL be a landlord.

And what is up with everybody these days are they "eviction happy"
Just read your states LL/tenant laws...
You may just need to "ask" them to leave with proper written notices.

Evictions mean courts and papers and sheriffs and all that jazz...
