The deed to my home is listed in my father's name and mine (age 43). Since my father was over 65 a homestead allowance was given our the property taxes. My father has passed away. I contacted the attorney who prepared his will and had the deed changed (after my mothers death) to see if I needed to have the deed changed. He said no. He did mention the homestead allowance and said he wouldn't do anything. Can I get into any trouble by not notifying the PVA about receiving the homestead allowance after my father's death? Can I be made to payback the allowance?
