I am in US on J1 visa. J1 visa doesn't allow to work remotely and remote supervision by employer is also not allowed. My employer is asking me to work remotely. He has not company owned office in this place I go. He uses space of some other company, of his friend. I am asked to enter my work hours online. No specific criteria of counting work hours.

My sponsor company says my program will be terminated if this goes on. I shall be losing a lot. Can I sue the employer? It is just first month and I am worried if employer will consider my work hours I entered. I am about to lose everything here. This might be too early to sue or complain but I will do if this kept going on for long.

I need advice on how I can complain or sue them? Whether I have any right here or not?

You've not indicated what sort of program you are in. The sponsor is very much responsible for the program but I've got my concerns when you imply your sponsor is farming you out and telling you to find work on your own.

You likely can't sue the employer. You probably have issues with the sponsor that you may need an immigration attorney.

This does not sound like a legitimate opportunity. I would expect that after speaking with an attorney that you should expect to return to your home country. With any luck you will not have the two year home residency.

When someone is willing to do anything to come to the US, he/she can be taken advantage of by dishonest employers. If this is the case, report your experience to the USCIS/ICE
