How do you know they used too much acid?

Muriatic Acid is used in some hot tubs and is corrosive. Why they would have too much in the hot tub to actually cause someone to get 3rd degree burns is odd. If that is the chemical they were using.

Did anyone else get burned?
Did they test the water to see how high the acid level was?
Were there caution signs posted?

answers to ur questions

the water was tested by the state and chlorine lvls were off the chart that they used 11others were burned also .. and many were made sick

Thats kinda weird especially since acid is usually not used in hot tubs. Usually they just use bromine tablets. The heat from the hot tubs perform a self cleaning with bacteria whereas pool water has trouble eliminating bacteria because the water never gets that hot.

I would have a doctor run some tests on you and your boy. Because without conclusive tests, you don't have a case.

Plus... have you written a letter to the management of the bldg about the hot tub and have them look into it. Remember... in writing!! Always.

Just remembered something else. Acid burns are completely different from burns cause from temperature. Acid will stay in the skin whereas temperture will just burn the skin off. Acid will usually discolor your skin too.

If you can get together with the 11 others that were hurt, and all their tests come in as having acid burns, you may have a class action suit.

Hmm

Did you say the water was tested by the state and chlorine lvls were off the chart? Chlorine is one of the most dangerious chemicals if not used correctly. High concentations can burn the crap out of you and the healing process can be very slow and painful. I have treated alot of chlorine burns in my day and they are the some of the worst burns you can get.

I would suggest you seek a personal injury lawyer and sue for damages. Make sure you get the documentation of the high chlorine levels and witness statements. Looks like you have a good case if no signs were posted. Chlorine needs to be handled very carefully. Sounds like things may have gotten a little sloppy. Hope you heal up ok.
