How can I drop my last name legally in Michigan?

What is the name of your state? I'm from Michigan

Anywho my name is Gene Moore Matthews. I'm 21 and I'd like to drop my last name 'Matthews' and have my name be Gene Moore, so in other words my middle name will now be my last name.

How can I do this in Michigan legally, quickly and cheap? I live in the wayne county area. thank you.

22? WTH man that just makes no sense. I'm an adult and you're telling me i have to wait until I'm a year older to switch my name? Nah I don't think so.

I think that thing means IF I was 22 or older and i was trying to change my name, THEN I have to go through the finger print procedure and what not.

What about the "common usage" law?

and I went to the site and it said a person WHO IS 22. it doesn't say anything about HAVING as in REQUIRED to be 22 for name change. Guess you didn't read that yourself.
