What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

My ex-boyfriend and I are holding a title to a co-op apartment.
I bought it myself and later added him to the title and mortgage.
3 years ago I moved out and ever since then I'm trying to get
a certain amount for it and be removed from the title or 1/2 of
a sale price if he sells. However he does not plan doing either.
How can I get my money? Can he just take my apartment away
from me? What are my options? How long does the process last
and what is the cost?
Thank you. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

As two singles owning together, do you have an ownership contract/agreement?

Who lives there? You could move back in, if neither of you has put a tenant in there Also, you could research "Partition Sale", as that is your only other option. He is half owner, you placed him in equal ownership. Have you offered to buy out his interest and refinance him off the mortgage?

Thank you for your reply!
No, we don't have any ownership contract/agreement.
He lives there and pays mortgage and all bills himself. I can't move back in with him, there is a reason why I left him in the first place...
Do you know the cost if I go for Partition by sale? And how long does it take?
I can't afford to buy him out and he is not willing to do anything I ask...

**A: hire an attorney as a coop is not like a condo. In the coop, you own shares.
