What is the name of your state: Florida
For the State of Florida:
Three years ago I walked in on my girlfriend at the time cheating on me; out of the heat of the moment I broke her laptop computer. No one was harmed or injured in anyway (except for my heart). She filed a police report and I served 3 years probation and restitution and now I have a felony aggravated assault on my record.
This was a first time offense for me. I had never been in trouble with the law prior to this matter. Now they tell me this charge will stay on my record for the rest of my life! My question is, how should I go about requesting a Pardon from the State of Florida? I can't have this charge stay on my record and effect my chances in the future of any job opportunities. I spoke with a lawyer today who said he would help but that he would charge me $1500 to file a pardon. Are there any other ways to go about requesting a pardon. Is this something I can do on my own, what are the steps I need to take? What's the best way to put together a request for pardon? I know it's a long shot but it seems to be all I got.
