What is the name of your state? Colorado

 I just realized that when I wrote two checks last week for bills I put 2006 on them!
How relevant is that? We have excellent credit and are NEVER late so I am hoping the companies will realize it was unintentional. Will they still deposit them? One I'm not worried about as I can call them tommorrow...they are local and it's no problem to get them a new check if necessary. The other I'm a bit more concerned about. It would be in their best interest to claim they couldn't and they are hard to reach as they are outsourced to another country. I doubt I could get another check to them in time and altho' it would cost $15.00 to do a payment over the phone with that company(no online payments) I'd be worried they would then deposit the check after the fact resulting in two withdrawals.

Thoughts? Do you think they'll even notice the wrong date?

I can't say for sure about your case. I used to work taking payments in a bank and we did not even look at dates- it was irrelevant if there even was a date on the check. While working there, I was always told that checks are good for one year from the date unless otherwise stated (like some checks say good for 90 days). I am sure places get a lot of checks with the previous year on them around this time of the year. Chances are they won't even look at the date with so many checks to process, but they may be trained to look at it to catch people and be able to tack on extra fees.
I know, I don't offer much help either way. If you have a little time before it is due, maybe keep an eye on your bank account to see if the check went through. If at the last minute it hasn't you could call to see what they say and possibly pay by phone.
