What is the name of your state? California

My former husband and I signed a stipulated agreement and order for modification of custody over one month ago, and my attorney was going to submit it for signature to the judge the next morning.

I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet, and according to the court's website, the papers have not been filed.

I've contacted my attorney's office, and his paralegal told me she was going to check with the court the following day (I know this always means "next week") and she would advise me. That was a week ago.

Now, I don't want to keep calling all the time, because that's a pain in the butt, and it gets expensive for me... However, I don't want to have come this far, and have the ball dropped due to somebody's poor work habits either.

Does the waiting for a judge to sign a stipulated agreement usually take for-EVER? Should I bother them, or just take a chill-pill?

Thanks.

In most instances, Judges sit aside a specific regular time to sign documents awaiting judicial signature. But I had one Judge that didn't sign the judgment for eight months. Do you know for a fact that both parties (you and the opposing party) and their attorneys have signed off on the Agreed Order so that all that is holding it up is the judicial signature?

Yes sir. I was the last one to sign, and I have a copy with all signatures but the judge's.

Good to know sometimes it takes a while, even though I'm a total control freak, and I can't stand waiting until this is put to bed.

So, I shouldn't bother the attorney's office for a while, eh?

Thanks.
