What is the name of your state? NM

I received a call from a good friend of mine this morning. He apparently did some bad things in Georgia back in 2000 or so and they want to extradite him back to Georgia from New Mexico to face his charges. He asked me to help him financially and I am willing to do it, depending on the severity of his charges. He wouldn't tell me what the charges are so I assume they are pretty severe but is there any way I can look up his case information? All I have is his first and last name and his date of birth. I know I can look up cases in New Mexico through nmcourts.com so I am looking for something similar in Georgia. Thanks and yes, I know I probably shouldn't help him if he won't tell me what he is being charged with.

Or better yet, since whatever he did happened so long ago, what are the statutes of limitations in Georgia for various felonies and misdemeanors. Someone please help me out here.

If you know the court that the warrant(s) were issued from, you might be able to find out something. However, if the case has yet to go to trial there may be no public record to find even if the court IS on line.

He'll have to hire an attorney in GA to look into the matter and arrange a surrender.

Statute of limitations place limits on how long the State can take to file its case. Once filed there is no limit to how long a warrant can be out on the case.

Oh okay, thanks for the help guys. Apparently this all happened when he was 16 and he is now 27 or 28. Something fishy is going on here and I'm not sure if he is telling me the complete truth or not. I wouldn't think GA would extradite him back there for something he did when he was 16 since it has been so long. Hmm....
