Other than your humiliation, what were your damages? Did you lose work or did you just change out jobs?

I am not saying you don't have a right to be angry. I am trying to see if it is worth your time to pursue.

I would definitely bring it up to your boss, though. Most companies would have refused all the work... I would have.

humiliated by bussiness owner

i wasn't just angry i was humiliated and embarrassed if i didn't need my job so bad i wouldn't even go back in. i was basically accused of being a thief because my skin is dark i have never even had a traffic ticket. so if i walked into a mcdonalds to do some work and was told black people couldn't contract there i would have no case is that what ur saying. this may have been someones home but it is owned by an oil company and it was the company owner that did this to me just don't want someone to get away with that attitude. and the funny thing is i am not even black i am puerta rican

No, YOU weren't.

Your son was.

I don't help liars. I never said you didn't have a case. I said I need more information.

Now, I don't care.

Bye.

Fine.

When you actually answer my questions, we will get started. I am not going to let you rant and rave.

This is a legal site. I don't ask questions for my health and,for what it is worth, I don't have the time to waste while you and your mom figure out who is going to post when.

In case you hadn't noticed... I WAS helping you. Apparently, since I didn't use the words "you just won the lottery", it wasn't good enough.

Even if the situation was terrible, the people to sue would be your boss... since HE made the decision to swap you out. Again, I would start there.

In another thread you posted that it was you SON IN LAW that was discriminated against ... now you say it is you. So, which is it?

While the situation is really uncool, it might cost you a lot of money to try and sue someone for their racial comments and there will be no guarantee of a payout at the other end. Homeowners have a right to be prejudice. Your employer could have said, "Too bad. I will vouch for my people." If the homeowner did not like it, she could pay for the work done and he could withdraw.

if you boss let you go for that, you might have some action against your boss, but since you (or your son-in-law) seem to have suffered no real harm, I doubt that you have any good grounds for a suit against anyone. You do not have a right to be free from humiliation or embarrassment. Because of the contractual arrangement, an attorney MIGHT be able to find a nexus between her as the employer and you as the employee, but without any articulable damages it might not be worth paying a few thousand dollars for crap shoot.

You were being accused of being black. If that has negative connotations to you, that's on you.

The simple fact is; a person is allowed to be racist. If I don't want whites in my house, it is my right. Your boss is the one that took action based on the race issue. Do you want to sue your boss even though he is a nice guy?

Sounds like your boss tried to handle the situation diplomatically. Obviously the home owner has some influence over the companies future earning potential. Many people receive unwanted attention. How our employers handles it is important. If he moved you to another job and paid you the entire time, I would not worry about it. My wife experienced a Kenyan customer, from Kenya, that asked to buy her coworker.
