I am a UK national. I applied for an extension of my B2 visa and they received it on 27 January 2017. My I 94 form was due to expire on Jan 28 2017. I requested for an extension until 5/5/2017. However I was told to stay in USA until a decision was made. I just received the approval notice on 6/21/2017 and the approved stay date is still 5/5/207. I would like to know if I have stayed unlawfully in the US from 5/5/2017? should I leave the country immediately?
I have now received a job position at that same institute and I would like to know what the prospects are for my job visa H1-B, Is this going to affect the visa process?
