What is the name of your state? NJ I got a return for my petition because they want w-2. Is it possible they will take 1040a instead of w2 or also if i obtain w2 transcript from IRs is that acceptable? Please advise. I wanted to send them filed returns because i cannot find my w2

If you call the IRS, yoiu can order a FREE copy of your tax return transcript. This is widely used for immigration filings and is quick to get.
If you submit a transcript, you do not need to submit W-2s.

If you submit a 1040 (any flavor) you MUST supply the W-2s.

Transcripts for 2006 is not yet on irs server.. can i send it in without 2006 w2? Also should I send in pay stubs and work verification even if not requested?

Look, you CAN send whatever you want. If you want the case approved though, I recommend that you send as complete a package as possible.

If you can not access your 2006 tax return transcript, then you must send a copy of the filed tax return PLUS any attachments (W-2, 1099 etc). One or the other.

You would be well served to also send pay stubs and employment letter, but these do not substitute for tax returns in the format they want.

Otherwise, wait a week or so if you have time left to respond to the Request for Information (they have a deadline). Transcripts are generally available shortly after you file.
