I missed my "new appearance date" after waiting for the ticket to become available online

I have been checking online for the ticket to become available a little after 5/25, on the second week of June (6/10) I looked and it still was not available. Checking as of today 6/26, 30 days later, I see that my ticket is open but a date to appear has already been passed. I don't understand why it was so soon given due date. My only options given are the following.

Request an Extension of the Due Date on Your Ticket - The extension date will be 11/5/2018.

Court Date Reservation for Arraignment Only - No Trials - Select a time preference below.

AM PM Night Court No Preference


Could someone please advice me which is the proper thing to do in order to clear this and without being charged more?

On your ticket it should have given you an appearance date. You should have appeared on that date. It seems to me that you should request an extension.

If I get an extension, will it extend the appearance date? Also I was caught using my phone while traffic was stuck on the PCH freeway.

I also just checked the ticket and the officer put under my signage to appear by 9/6/18 8:30 am.

Then you clearly should have been in court on 9/6. Please not that the last line "Last Action / New Appearance Date:6/19/2018" Is not necessarily the new appearance date. It also could have simply been the last action taken on your case. Which, considering it was two weeks after you were supposed to pay the ticket or be in court may have been the issuing of a FTA/FTP warrant.

Appreciate the feedback. It would make more sense that I still have till the 6th of September yes.. well I'm just still confused if I have done something wrong or I am on track with the ticket. It doesn't give me any option to pay but rather to appear in court or extend..

Good idea thank you. I just realized I cannot pull up my ticket online successfully every attempt. I believe this notice on the front page may have something to do with it and perhaps covers my issue.

"The Court is implementing a new automated system and is experiencing some technical difficulties. If payment or other action on your ticket is due today through June 22, you will be allowed to handle it through June 29, 2018 without penalties and with no negative effect to your driving record. There is no need to visit your local courthouse. "

Be sure to screen cap that in full context should it come to that causing an issue with your ticket / drivers license.
