Your subject says it all--you are ONLY 16. Therefore, your parents know a whole hell of a lot more about life than you do, and they're trying to do what's BEST for YOU! In the long run, it's YOU, not them, who will suffer for dropping out.

If I were you, I wouldn't bother finding out whether they could kick me out. I'd look to the future, stay in school, and try to make something of myself.

Seriously, you'll have a whole different perspective on this when you're 36 instead of 16. I know a few kids who dropped out, but I don't know one who doesn't regret it.

Taking the few years left to finish your education will benefit you for the rest of your life, which will hopefully be much longer than it's been so far. Good luck to you!

16 and scared

I don't know why you would want to drop out of school or why your parents would not let you stay at home if you did. It sounds like you may need someone to talk to about more htan just school. Take a few moments and call some very nice people who have helped thousands of teens who are in difficult situations. They're number is 1-800-VICTORY (1 800 842-8679)Give them a call and listen, they can help.
