I cannot leave the country because of being outside the 180 day status. I have been applying for legal status since Aug 1998 and am awaiting my interview. I have an extremely ill brother in UK - if he dies what is the quickest way of getting advance parole please?

Go to the nearest INS office with Form I-131 in hand and beg. But this is the INS so do not expect mercy. If you can, file for AP now.
