We have a home property in California. We used it as collateral to purchase a property in oregon. The private lender illegally snuck a deed of trust on the oregon property as well. We fought it in California for years and reached an agreement we met in mediation. The oregon property and California were in my parents name. During this fight the oregon property was grant deeded into my name. Now we need the get there recorded deed of trust off the oregon property. We were told by her lawyer to get the paperwork and the lender will sign it but we are not sure which mechanism to use in oregon?

You should consult with an attorney in Oregon.

Rhetorically - why in the world would you muddy the waters even more by transferring the property from your parents to you before this was straightened out?

Well that was no help at all, But thanks for your input.

It is of great help - it should help you realize that your matter is beyond the scope of an internet forum. It should also help teach you to better deal with this sort of matter in the future.

You are quite welcome.

I'm not even sure why it needs to be removed....explain that one ...

In short, the grantor open up wallet in OR and pays an OR attorney seasoned in RE matters to get the removal steps right ...or a quiet title action which does the equivalent .

I don't assume the deed of trust was "illegal" ...perhaps somebody signed a stack of papers wo reading them ..that's merely dumb.
