Im 16 can I Sue for Libel ?

Hello,
I am a student in a small academy at Las Vegas, Nevada. I have recently been faced with defamation from a female pupil at my school. The case, is that she and I were deeply upset at each other. One night we were having a private conversation on AOL Instant Messenger, and I said some rude things about her. I realize that I do have a right to express my opinions as long as my statements are only opinions, not containing specific facts that can be proved untrue.
Well the following day, she had printed out our entire conversation and a letter about me addressed to the pupils at our school. She distributed many copies to all of the student body of these documents. I had never given consent to the publication of the material which was solely a private conversation between us. Furthermore, I felt great emotional distress after the student body had read her documents. I felt she had defamed my character. She has deeply affected my reputation in the small academy and has cast aspersions on me. I feel I have suffered great emotional and mental distress.
Can someone please help me out? I would truly appreciate you support.

Yours is a very well written posting, but you are out of luck.

Circulating the exchange of postings may be uncool, and childish, but it's not libel, and it's probably very legal. In years past she'd have said "he said this and he said that"; same thing.

Now, I hear that she wants to sue me for harassment because of what I said to her in our online conversation. Can She do that?
