What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin.
Here is the full story:
There is somebody that I met that needed their website updated and redesigned. I charged him 50$ for SEO and he gave me the dns account so I can point it to my host and all the files to his website since his current host wasn't giving me FTP access.
I eagerly took this opportunity and I told him that I'd look at what I'm working with and that I'd then give him a better estimate of how long it's going to take and everything. After looking at it I decided that I could not do it in a timely manner, and that it would be unfair to him if I took a long time so I told him that I'm not going to work on it. (I did finish the SEO improvements mentioned earlier)
So at this point the website is on my hosting account, well here comes the problem.
Once we came to a conclusion and I did not want to work anymore, he told me to contact his brother in law to have him take over the website again. In the meanwhile his brother in law decided that he did not want to host it anymore, so now I am stuck with this website. The guy isn't responding to any of my emails, texts or phonecalls. He's just harassing me that his email is not working. The host account is under my name, and under my credit card. There were no contracts or paperwork signed between us during this period.
Can I just get rid of this thing or is there some legal stuff anchoring me to this (minor) nightmare?
