What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia.

I'm an artist, a painter to be precise. I have two galleries that represent me and sell my work. I was contacted by someone who saw one of my pieces used in one of the highest profile design/decor magazine in the industry. The piece was in the center of a two page spread with no acknowledgment and no permission given to use this image.

Do I have a case against the magazine for using my work without my permission? The piece had been sold to a customer from one of the galleries, who then had their home profiled in this particular magazine.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

If the piece was sold, it was no longer your property and you no longer had any rights regarding the piece.
