What is the name of your state? ca

i am a residence alien and was 18 years old when i was convicted of 2 misdemeanor charges of PC 602(1) 2 counts in 1999. i was sentenced to 3 years of court probation, 30 days in county jail (did 30 days of sheriff weekend work program instead), and 240 hours of community services. i passed the immigration exam on my probation (6/2000) and my application was denied due to title 8, code of federal regulation, part 316.10(c)(1) which states that anyone who is on probation cannot be naturalized and section 316(a) states that no applicant can apply in 5 years and has to show good moral character. 5 years has passed and now i can apply for naturalization again. my quesiton is that do i need a lawyer when i am being interviewed? and what kind of documents do i need to bring to the interview and how should i answer the question when the interviewer asks me if i was ever arrested. please help thank you.

IMO, if this is important to you then get a lawyer.
