I was in a bar in Altamonte Springs Florida(WHERE I PLAY IN A FREE POKER LEAGUE NOT TO DRINK) on 02/06/2010 where I was told to not go into the bar area to only stay in the front because Im in a wheelchair. I got a recording of the owner stating that and a possible witness. The catch is Im on SSI and cant afford to hire an attorney is there anyone out there who can help me?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

from the top of my head, you weren't dicrimanted against. your wheelchair may have posed a fire hazard if blocking walkways. they didn't tell you you couldn't come in, they asked that you stay in a separate section that can accomodate you.

Here's what you do ... run it by an attorney. if he does cartwheels and agrees to take the matter on contingency, you have just won the lawsuit lottery. If he says that you have no case - or no GOOD case, or asks you to pay money up front, this is not the case to make a big score.

Depending on the size of the establishment, there may have been no reasonable accommodation to be made where you wanted to go. Making reasonable accommodation does not always mean doing what you want.

Check with a few attorneys. If you have a winning case, they will leap at the opportunity to represent you. i don't think you have a case, but, I don't know the details, so ... maybe.
