I work at a company that sales retail beauty products in Oregon. We have been having alot of snowy/icy weather and I mentioned to the manager of my store that I was concerned I wouldn't be able to make it in driving I was told that the company policy says that during inclement weather employees must report to work regardless unless a DM or higher says the stores can close/close early, if an employee cannot make it to work it will be considered a no call no show even if the employee follows policy and gives ample notice. Is it legal to punish an employee for not working when state authorities ODOT tells drivers to stay home unless there job is essential?
