What is the name of your state? Florida

I lived in NJ but now live in Florida.

I have a problem with the State of NJ and am thinking that forming a corp would solve the problem.

After blowing the whistle about a toxic exposure to the public I found that the two properties involved were owned by people appointed to State offices. Nothing was ever done about the exposure, people could actually be dead from the exposure and never had the opportunity to know that they were exposed or what they were exposed too.

My current punishment from the State is that the NJ Division of Taxation has totally fabricated that I owe $35,000 in State income taxes. I am worried that my inheritance will be taken by the State. My parents will leave me an amount of money, stocks, a condo in Hollywood, FL and a condo in Wildwood, NJ.

My though is that I should form a Florida Corp and have my parents change their living trust to leave my inheritance to the corporation.

Would that protect my inheritance? Any other options? I need to do something as soon as possible.

Thanks!

What you are trying to do would likely not succeed. If the amount of money you are going to receive is anything substantial, talk to an estate planning attorney who can help you and your parents plan, and hopefully protect, the assets in question. Trying to do this yourself will may very well end up in a situation where a court finds that the purpose of the corporation is solely to shield assets, and you could easily end up with no protection whatsoever, PLUS potentially be on the hook for fraud.

Talk to an attorney who can review ALL of the relevant facts of your situation, and advise you accordingly. There may be steps you can take to protect some or most of your assets, but you'll need professional guidance.
