What is the name of your state? CALIFORNIA

- i have a question... i am an independant contractor working for the same company (it's a recording studio) everyday - i would think i wouldn't be an independant contractor considering this... i also work 8 hours a day with no lunch break and i think this is wrong, but what can you do? - if i were to move to salary or out of "independant contractor" - would that mean i am entitled to lunch breaks, benefits, etc? - why do employers wish to keep you as an independant contractor even if you only work for their company?

thanks for any help...i appreciate it... :o

**It saves them money and they don't want to have any liability if you get injured etc...

What you are describing sounds like you are an employee. So what they are doing might get them into a lot of trouble.
