My husband died on the job after falling and hitting his head. Its unclear exactly what happened. My WC claim was controverted meaning they are still trying to figure out what happened and if I can get WC death benefits. An investigator from the Safety Insurance Plan from my husband's union came to my house and asked questions in which I told him I was not there so I dont know exactly what happened. Then he asked unrelated questions to the accident. My childrens names, husbands, hobbies, where I work, and even asked for a picture of him. I questioned him about this and I got a round about answer. He also was at the company where the accident occurred to get information from them also. How were all these questions about my husbands personal life and mine related to anything?
