Good morning! i posted this thread in another forum as well but then realized this one may be better suited for the question. I live in Virginia and worked for an employer for a short time where I was paying a portion of the cost for health insurance benefits. My benefits began on 10/01/15 and the last day of coverage was 10/31/15 (I quit on 10/30). In total, I had the biweekly insurance fee taken out in full from four paychecks- 10/09, 10/23, 11/06 and 11/20.
Because I was only covered for one month, I am thinking that the fourth deduction should not have been taken out at all and potentially the third deduction as well? Or that one should have been prorated for the extra couple of days if anything? Am I correct or should all four payments have been taken out? Thank you in advance for any advice!
EDIT: Posted too early, HR got back to me and let me know it was a mistake and she just forgot to change it and they will be mailing me a check for the two pay periods. Just glad that I looked, now!!
