Explain this "payment arrangement". You cannot "sell" a child.

She found this place on line called American Adoptions,, they sent her pictures of alleged childless parents and then she recieved contracts to sign. Arrangements were made where she would recieve $400 per month for living expenses and then upon placement of the child she would be paid $700.
Isn't this the same thing as baby brokering?

I guess a little bit of both it is killing me to know that I will never get to hold my grandchild.

My daughter is in Missouri, this adoption agency is in Kansas. And in a case like this do the grandparents have any rights whatsoever as far as ever seeing the child.
And no the adoption hasn't taken place as of yet she is due May 27, her boyfriend does not want the child so she is choosing him over the child.
